Age Range To Use Knife
Cut soft ingredients, such as a banana, a slice of melon with no rind, peach half, pear half, mango wedge, avocado slices, a cooked baby carrot.
Move on to more firm foods. Some foods include long pineapple pieces for kid to cut into smaller pieces, slices of apple, kiwi, peach or other fruit slices; harder vegetables, such as celery, carrots…
At this stage, larger food, avoid small foods and round foods.
Child with plenty of knife experience and has shown he/she can safely use any knife.

Mock-ups

To test out different ideas from ideation to see what work or what cannot work.
What I found:
It's better to have a recognizable form for the knife therefore it would be better for them to learn from it and really get into cutting.

Final decision:
Three tools in a set which are cutting knife, peeler and protection tool. All of them are developed in form that is safe for kids to use. Moreover, design in the look of the products that can attract kids, so they can be more interested in cutting

Knife
Help children to hold the knife more stable and avoid from slipping which will cause dropping the knife.

A guide that can help kids better understand cutting.
